Health and Security Assistant (Wardsperson) Full-Time Temporary (6 Months) Join Calvary Mater Newcastle Where Compassion Meets World-Class Care! Salary Classification Health and Security Assistant Remuneration - $ 34.73 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options About the role As a Health & Security Assistant (Wardsperson) you will be responsible for providing support across the hospital, working seven (7) days a week 24-hour rotating roster.

The Health & Security Assistant (Wardsperson) will provide non-clinical care to a variety of areas, including but not limited to: To assist nursing staff in patient care To transport patients for admissions and discharge To attend all emergency codes and mortuary duties To assist security staff in code black situations To be on call for cleaning of discharge beds as required on night duty To attend to ICU on night work, weekends and public holidays or when there are no ICU Technicians available Rotating roster (8 Hour shifts) over a 24/7 period.

The shift times are: Day shift: 0600 - 1400 Afternoon shift: 1400 - 2200 Night shift: 2200 - 0600 About you Current Security Industry Licence and Senior First Aid Certificate and Working with Children Check (WWCC) Commitment to providing a professional customer service to patients, staff and members of the public in a timely manner Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Manual Handling and Infection Control principles Commitment to further training with a willingness and flexibility to relieve in higher grade positions as required Ability to work effectively as a member of various multidisciplinary teams and ability to work independently as required Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills Ability to work unsupervised and proficiently in periods of high demand and activity For more information, please contact Darrin Jenkins darrin.
