Hospice Comfort Specialist- STNA
Job description
Job Title: STNA – Hospice Comfort Specialist The Goal: To turn "patient care" into "person-centered honoring." Job Summary We are seeking dependable, professional, and detail-oriented State Tested Nursing Assistant to join our elite team of end-of-life specialists. In hospice, we don't just treat symptoms; we protect the dignity of our patients.
As an STNA here, you are the heartbeat of our care team, providing the compassionate touch that enhances a patient’s quality of life when it matters most.
Your Responsibilities
Provide high-quality daily nursing care that follows each resident’s unique care plan. You’ll ensure that "facility policies" feel like "family standards." Daily Dignity: Assist residents with all activities of daily living (ADLs)—including ambulating, transferring, bathing, dressing, and eating—with a focus on patience and comfort rather than speed.
The Digital Paper Trail: Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation. Your notes are the roadmap that helps the rest of the clinical team provide seamless care. Lifelong Learning: Participate in scheduled trainings and in-services. We don't just want you to maintain your certification; we want to help you become an expert in the delicate field of palliative care.
The Collaborative Core: Work side-by-side with physicians, nurses, and social workers. In our world, the STNA often knows the patient best—your voice is vital to the team. Person-Centered Communication: Provide "real-time" updates to the team. You are the bridge between the patient’s needs and the development of a care plan that honors their final wishes.
Compliance with Heart: Maintain a strong understanding of long-term care federal and state regulations, ensuring our high standards of safety are always met. What You Bring to the Bedside A valid Ohio STNA License in good standing. The ability to remain calm and compassionate in emotionally heavy environments. A "detail-oriented" eye—you notice the small things (like a favorite lotion or a specific way a pillow is turned) that make a patient feel at home.
Reliability: Because in hospice, "tomorrow" is a gift, and our patients need you today. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and consider all applicants for positions without the regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, national orientation, age, sexual orientation, marital or veteran status, or non-job-related handicap or disability.
