Head Basketball Cheer Sponsor/Coach

Head Basketball Cheerleading Sponsor 2026-2027 School Year Colfax-Mingo High School Colfax-Mingo Community School District is seeking a Head Basketball Cheerleading Sponsor for the 2026-2027 school year. The Head Cheerleading Sponsor will provide leadership and direction for the high school basketball cheerleading program while promoting school spirit, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive experience for our student-athletes.

Responsibilities

Organize and supervise basketball cheerleading practices Prepare cheerleaders for home and away basketball games and other assigned events Teach and promote proper cheerleading skills, techniques, and safety Develop a positive team culture built around commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship Coordinate schedules, performances, and activities with the Activities Department Maintain effective communication with student-athletes, parents, school administration, and the Activities Director Serve as a positive role model and representative of Colfax-Mingo High School Follow all Colfax-Mingo CSD, conference, and applicable state policies and regulations Qualifications Previous cheerleading, coaching, or related experience preferred Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to build positive relationships with high school students Iowa Coaching Authorization/Endorsement or ability to obtain required credentials CPR, Mandatory Reporter, and NFHS Concussion in Sports certifications as required To Apply Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest along with qualifications and certifications to: Erin Hume Activities/Athletic Director Colfax-Mingo Jr/Sr High School 204 N.
