Area Manager (Retail) - Western Cape

We are looking for a retail leader with a track record of driving sales and developing teams. The role is suited to someone with clothing-sector experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can make a measurable impact on store performance. The successful candidate will lead a group of stores, with a focus on sales, profitability, people development and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach and develop store managers to achieve sales, profitability and operational targets. Conduct store visits, assess performance and implement improvements. Recruit, hire and train new store managers. Analyse sales data, control costs and optimise inventory. Drive visual merchandising, stock accuracy and shrinkage control.

Monitor KPIs and implement corrective action where targets are missed. Foster a culture of excellence, discipline and teamwork across the stores. Ensure compliance with company policies, customer-service standards and health and safety requirements. Build strong relationships with store teams and support functions. Represent the business professionally in all store and regional interactions.

Key Requirements 5–10 years of retail experience. Clothing-sector experience is an advantage. Grade 12 qualification. A tertiary qualification is advantageous. Proven people-management and store-leadership experience. A sales-driven mindset with experience managing profitability and stock. Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

High level of self-motivation, determination and integrity. Own reliable car and willingness to travel across the required area. Advantageous Experience managing multiple stores or a region. Exposure to recruitment, training and performance management. Experience with stock control, merchandising and loss prevention.
