Materials Engineer

Your role

We are looking for Materials Engineer who will be responsible for delivering on non-conformance activities relating to manufacturing, testing, and in-service materials support to Defence & Aerospace projects. As part of this role, you will be responsible for supporting a multidisciplinary team that collaborates to solve complex, real-world problems associated with Defence & Aerospace Projects.

Managing small to medium-size tasks performing materials assessments related to component non-conformance. This role may require security clearance.

Your profile

Required Experience Degree in Materials Engineering or similar discipline (minimum) and chartered or working towards chartership status. Experience in relevant materials related employment, preferably in the Aerospace or other safety critical sectors. Familiarity with a range of materials used in Aerospace & Defence (metals & alloys, ceramics, polymers etc.)

and their methods of manufacturing (casting, forging, machining, coating, curing, welding etc.) Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to build good working relationships across the business. Desirables Expertise in any of the following: ferrous, titanium, nickel, or light alloys, ceramics, coating, welding, or non-destructive testing technologies, hot working, cold working, or additive layer manufacturing.

Direct materials experience within a laboratory, test house, or similar. Experience in critical safety sectors in addition to Aerospace & Defence. Knowledge of gas turbines and its components.
