Canvassing Team Lead

Help build Vault Roofing’s canvassing team in Columbus.

As our Canvassing Team Lead, you’ll lead approximately five canvassers, work alongside them in local neighborhoods, and help homeowners schedule appointments to learn about their roofing options. You’ll set the pace, coach in real time, and take ownership of daily team performance. This is a hands-on, outdoor field marketing role.

You’ll personally knock doors, meet individual activity expectations, and help your team generate quality appointments that lead to completed sales presentations and sold projects. Lead morning huddles, set daily goals, recognize wins, and prepare your team for the field. Drive canvassers to assigned neighborhoods in a company vehicle and coordinate safe drop-offs, pickups, and team locations.

Canvass alongside your team, demonstrate effective homeowner conversations, and provide coaching through observation and role-playing. Track doors knocked, homeowner conversations, appointments booked, completed sales presentations, and sold deals. Confirm booked appointments directly with homeowners through a shared phone line, including supporting other markets as the program grows.

Hold team members accountable for attendance, punctuality, activity, appointment quality, and professional conduct. Help interview, onboard, and train new canvassers as the Columbus team grows. Communicate staffing needs, performance trends, territory feedback, and coaching priorities to the Senior Leader of Field Marketing.

Support refresher training, home shows, and community events when scheduled, including alternatives to door-knocking when weather limits field activity. Sales, canvassing, field marketing, or team leadership experience, with examples of achieving goals or helping others improve. Willingness to work outdoors, personally knock doors, and stay actively involved in daily field operations.

Ability to coach, motivate, set expectations, and address performance concerns respectfully and directly. Comfort using activity and conversion metrics to identify problems and improve results. Strong communication, organization, dependability, and openness to feedback. A valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle while transporting team members.

Availability to work in the Columbus area Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Especially relevant: Door-to-door sales, canvassing, appointment setting, or field sales experience in roofing, home improvement, solar, pest control, or HVAC. Experience training or leading others is a plus. Roofing experience is preferred, not required.

Approximately $50,000 base salary plus performance-based incentives. $80,000–$100,000 in on-target total annual earnings; actual earnings depend on performance. Incentives tied to completed sales presentations and sold deals. The full compensation plan will be reviewed during interviews. Health, dental, and vision insurance.
