JOB TITLE: General Facilities Maintenance JOB LOCATION: North Chicago, IL JOB TYPE: Temp to Hire PAY: Starting at $18.00/hour (Depending on Experience) SHIFT AVAILABLE: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM About the General Facilities Maintenance Role: SMS Staffing is seeking a skilled and dependable General Facilities Maintenance professional to join our team.

This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing facility equipment, machinery, and building structures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will have maintenance and troubleshooting experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while following all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs Maintain facility structures, pipe systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment Perform welding and metal cutting as needed Inspect and test machinery for malfunctions Keep work areas clean and organized Follow all safety policies and procedures Qualification Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Ability to read and write English Basic math and analytical skills Maintenance and troubleshooting experience Must have your own basic tools and toolbox Special Circumstances: This is a safety-sensitive position Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job May stop unsafe activities and recommend solutions Multiple levels may be available based on experience Join the SMS Staffing team!
