Summary We are seeking a passionate High School Tutor to join our dynamic team at SmartStart Education. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the educational experiences of our students, fostering their academic growth, and preparing them for success in a global economy.

The tutoring position begins as soon as possible and runs through the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year. Tutors must be available Monday through Friday with flexibility for 8-35 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:30 pm and should plan to work several hours during the school day and after school as necessary within the Fairfield, CT 06825 area.

Pay: $35.00/hr *Applicants must be able to tutor ALL subjects at the high school level, including, but not limited to, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, History, and English.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging curriculum tailored to meet diverse student needs. Utilize learning technology to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement. Manage classroom environments to promote positive learning experiences. Collaborate with parents and guardians to support student achievement. Provide tutoring and additional support for students requiring extra assistance.

Plan and deliver lessons that align with educational standards and objectives. Assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.

Qualifications

ACTIVE CT State Teaching certification is REQUIRED. Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred).

Proven experience in curriculum development and lesson planning. Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage diverse learners. Familiarity with learning technologies and their application in education. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience working with students with special educational needs is a plus.
