3rd - 5th Grade Classroom / Lunchroom Para

This is two part-time positions combined for a full-time school-term position, 7.5 hours a day, Monday through Friday, during the school year when school is in session. Paid time off (after 60-day probation) and holiday pay. Base pay is $14.97. The purpose of this position is to assist the teacher in achieving teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole.

The lunchroom portion of the position is to assist the students during lunch periods to ensure a positive, safe environment for children to eat and enjoy recess time. To accomplish these tasks, the Lunchroom Para works closely with the staff and administration of USD 359. The applicant must have a high school diploma or a GED and have completed 48 hours at an institution of higher education, or obtain an associate's (or higher) degree, or pass a state-approved assessment that assesses the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or reading, writing, and mathematics readiness).
