Half-day Finance & Inventory Bookkeeper
Job description
Positioned within a leading production and packaging firm in Brackenfell, this role is critical for driving high-precision transactional accounting and keeping operational stock tracking seamless. Operating as an independent contractor for 20 hours per week with on-site presence, the position serves as the backbone for accurate data entry, daily reconciliation, and factory payroll support.

Transactional Accounting Accuracy: Execute daily accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, ensuring supplier and customer records remain precise, timely, and up to date.
System Stock Reconciliation: Capture inventory movements in the system timeously, from purchase order logs through to finished goods, reconciling physical count data submitted by the warehouse team without needing to handle stock physically. System Alignment: Keep system records matched between accounting and inventory software, actively resolving variances before they impact financial reporting.
Quote & Invoice Generation: Issue accurate customer quotes based on operational job cards and generate final billing promptly. Cash & Ledger Reconciliation: Perform routine bank reconciliation and monitor balance sheet entries to guarantee underlying record integrity. Factory Payroll Administration: Assist the HR department by collating factory timesheets, verifying attendance, and calculating overtime payments.
Requirements
Grade 12 Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance (Degree, Diploma, or equivalent demonstrated practical experience). Demonstrated experience handling transactional accounting tasks, including AP, AR, and bank reconciliation. High focus on transaction accuracy, speed, and applying standard business rules to daily data entry.
Experience working on Xero, Excel and an inventory platform ERP system. Hands-on experience capturing purchase orders, stock updates, or inventory transactions in a software environment. Strong personality fit with a adaptable, 'can-do' attitude and excellent cross-functional communication skills. Prior work history within a manufacturing, production, or logistics entity.
