Methods Engineer
Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a data-driven Methods Engineer for a 3-month contract position to support the measurement, analysis, monitoring, and continuous improvement of automated production processes. In this role, you will establish robust performance tracking across 3 key robotic stations, analyze operational deviations (ALEAs), and lead data-backed initiatives to optimize efficiency.
The primary objective of this project is to identify core factors of process deviation to help the facility consistently meet its current 9-day takt time target, while developing actionable improvements to eventually achieve a 2-day takt time.
Key Responsibilities
Measure, monitor, and evaluate performance across 3 robotic stations to eliminate bottlenecks and reduce production delays. Takt Time Reduction: Analyze operational data to identify root causes of process deviation, driving targeted actions to maintain a 9-day takt time and build the roadmap toward a 2-day takt time. Operational Issue Tracking: Identify, track, and categorize recurring operational issues (ALEAs) to implement sustainable corrective solutions.
Data & Performance Monitoring: Establish continuous performance tracking mechanisms using statistical analysis and data visualization tools to inform shop-floor and management decision-making. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with manufacturing operations and engineering teams to present findings, align on priority interventions, and guide implementation.
Qualifications
& Key Skills Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, industrial performance analysis, or data analytics within a production environment. Domain Knowledge: Past experience working with robotic, automated, or semi-automated manufacturing environments is highly desirable (optional but preferred).
Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent). Strong foundation in statistical analysis and industrial engineering methodologies. Core Competencies: Exceptional problem-solving skills, structured analytical thinking, and effective stakeholder management skills.
