Senior Estimator (SMP)

Job Overview Are you an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in mining, mechanical, structural, or piping construction projects? Cybalink Solutions is looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Senior Estimator to support an established Australian engineering and construction client. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex industrial construction projects, preparing accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, and tender deliverables while collaborating with international engineering, estimating, and procurement teams.

Perform detailed Material Take-Offs (MTOs) from engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, general arrangements, and 3D models. Develop first-principles estimates for structural, mechanical, piping, and modular construction works, including fabrication, welding, installation, and site modifications. Estimate labour, materials, plant, and equipment requirements, including piping fabrication, transportation, installation, and hydrotesting activities.

Prepare technical procurement packages, subcontract scopes, and supporting estimating documentation. Review tender documents, identify scope gaps, estimating assumptions, and commercial risks, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Collaborate with Australian-based engineering, estimating, and procurement teams to deliver accurate and timely tender submissions.

What We’re Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. 5–10 years of experience in estimating or project engineering within mining construction, piping construction, oil and gas, or refinery projects. Strong background in first-principles estimating, Material Take-Offs (MTOs), quantity surveying, and construction cost estimation.

Solid understanding of structural, mechanical, piping, and modular construction methods, including fabrication and site installation. Proficiency in Navisworks, advanced Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam; experience with estimating databases such as In. Eight is an advantage. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and 3D models to produce accurate estimates.

Australian project experience or familiarity with Australian construction standards is an advantage.
