Position Overview

We are seeking one (1) Certified Elementary Education Teacher with strong expertise in reading instruction to provide targeted, high-dosage tutoring for K-6 students. The goal is to strengthen foundational literacy skills and close achievement gaps through structured, research-based instructional practices.

Compensation

$50.00 per hour Schedule: 26 one-hour on-site sessions, consisting of: 1 planning session 24 student instructional sessions 1 final evaluation session Program Dates: October 5, 2026, through April 26, 2027 Specific session dates and times will be determined.

Qualifications

Valid state teaching certification in Elementary Education (required) Demonstrated expertise in reading instruction and literacy development Experience working with struggling readers and differentiating instruction Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering equity, inclusion, and student success Responsibilities: This is not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties or functions associated with the job.

Provide small-group or one-on-one reading instruction based on individual student needs Implement evidence-based literacy strategies aligned with district curriculum and state standards Develop instructional groups based on student proficiency and identified areas of need Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to support student growth Collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and support staff Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, and student progress Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement and growth Complete a final assessment of each student and document student progress Background Check Conducted Reedsport School District's policy grants preference to veterans and disabled veterans in accordance with legal requirements.
