Campus Safety and Operations Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Campus Safety & Operations Assistant supports the daily functions of the Campus Safety and Operations Department. Students in this role will assist with administrative, operational, and customer service tasks that contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient campus environment. This position is ideal for students who are dependable, detail-oriented, and interested in gaining experience in safety, security, or facilities management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Front Desk & Visitor Support Provide coverage for the Campus Safety front desk, greeting and assisting visitors in a professional manner. Manage visitor check-in and verification procedures. Answer phones and direct inquiries to appropriate staff. Safety & Operational Assistance Assist with safety escorts and patrol observations under staff supervision.

Support the completion of incident documentation or daily activity reports as directed. Participate in special projects related to campus safety, health, or facilities coordination. Clerical & Administrative Support Perform data entry, filing, and record management duties. Assist with organizing safety files, inventory records, and maintenance documentation.

Support department communications and scheduling as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Interest in safety, security, public service, or facilities operations (preferred but not required). WORK SCHEDULE Hours are based on student availability and departmental needs.

Evening and weekend shifts may be required, particularly during events or peak operational times.

COMPENSATION

Hourly rate in accordance with Federal Work-Study guidelines.
