The accountant will play a crucial role in our finance department by supporting various accounting activities, including financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting. As a member of the Administration division, the Accountant will embody the Buchanan values of Determination, Integrity, Safety, and Community in all their work. What You’ll Do on a Typical Day Month end expense recording & accruals Ensure compliance with accounting and financial regulations Account reconciliations Maintaining general ledger Audit preparations Recording & tracking reserves Ensure the travel & entertainment policy is followed Ensure all monthly costs are accounted for and allocated appropriately Customer volume incentives/rebates Claims and cargo liability reporting Work closely with Driver payroll team Preparing & recording bad debt Oversite of equipment rentals General Ad Hoc reporting What We’re Looking For Knowledge of GAAP Advanced Excel skills 3-5 years of experience Accounting Degree required Trucking Industry and Mc.
