POSITION SUMMARY

The Materials and Manufacturing Planning Analyst is a forward-looking role dedicated to shaping Vertiv's material future, not managing its day-to-day execution. This position is responsible for developing BOM level material strategies that impact forecasting and buying of materials to support the Infrastructure Solutions business.

The analyst operates upstream from production, translating product roadmaps, demand plans, and SIOP outputs into strategic material signals that enable Vertiv’s suppliers to plan capacity, allocate resources, and invest with confidence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with Project Managers and Engineering teams to understand BOM requirements for initial forecasting of supply Lead material readiness assessments for new product introductions, platform transitions, and engineering change orders (COs), evaluating BOM impacts months before production Analyze BOM structures to identify commonality, standardization, and consolidation opportunities that reduce material complexity, lower cost, and improve supply resilience Support/Analyze forecast accuracy at the material and supplier level; identify systemic variances and implement corrective strategies to improve signal quality Develop standard work, playbooks, and best practices for BOM strategy reviews Impact near, mid- and long-range demand forecasts (6–24 months) into material-level supplier forecasts that provide clear demand signals across the supply base QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

3–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management. Experience in manufacturing environment is a plus. Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Oracle, Kinaxis). APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus. Ability to work effectively across departments in a fast-paced environment.

Experience planning for engineered-to-order (ETO), configure-to-order (CTO), or complex manufactured products Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis; experience with planning/BI tools preferred Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS The role involves extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.

Occasional standing or walking may be required during meetings, presentations, or site visits. Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with controlled temperature and lighting. TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED Occasional travel to different office locations, client sites, or conferences may be necessary.
