Description Job Summary Garden. Core is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager that is responsible for the overall development, implementation and maintenance of the technical infrastructure for the organization’s Information Technology. Technical infrastructure primarily includes network, server, and storage hardware/software.
Implements and supports the necessary products to cost-effectively provide information system access to the organization. This position will work closely with all levels of the organization to ensure that the computing infrastructure can deliver at a service level consistent with organizational risk, information access requirements and business strategies.
Will proactively raise the understanding for system performance and availability capabilities through education and developing service level agreements with other departments. Utilizes industry accepted IT best practices to ensure high availability, integrity and performance of all information systems. Coordinates with other IT department managers and staff to ensure proper implementation of computing infrastructure in support of business application initiatives.
This position is directly responsible for the Team Leads and Technical Analysts supporting the Network, Server and Storage areas. Assigns work to subordinates, monitors performance and conducts performance appraisals. Provides technical consulting on complex organizational projects. Evaluates existing systems and procedures, and makes recommendations for improvements as required.
The Infrastructure Manager will provide reports regarding the effectiveness of computing infrastructure and proactively make recommendations for the adoption of new technologies and/or procedures. This position will manage over 58 sites in the U.S. and will be required to travel up to 25% of the time to company sites based on business needs.
Job Location The IT Infrastructure Manager will be working onsite in the Peachtree Corners, GA office.
Responsibilities
Assesses infrastructure needs and capabilities of the organization. Makes regular reports to management concerning the current state of the technical environment and makes recommendations for improvement as required. Manages activities of the Infrastructure function within the IT department with responsibility for Network Services, Server Management, Storage Management, and overall system architecture.
Develops work plans and allocates resources for the design, build, and implementation of computing hardware and software. Assesses and ensures implementation and support of the computing infrastructure needs for the organization. Sets measurable and attainable goals related to network availability and server availability.
Works closely with the Client Services Manager to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are attained on issues escalated from the Help Desk to the Infrastructure team. Also, work closely with this Manager to properly maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of the data center environment. Works closely with the IT Security to ensure high levels of security and to develop, implement and test the disaster recovery plan for the organization’ network and data centers.
Identifies and implements best practices in accordance with industry standards in order to provide high-levels of performance as a result of process and technology improvements Identifies and acts to resolve issues including technical, end-user, personnel, policy or procedure. Assists in budget development and management.
Efficiently and effectively utilize departmental resources to assist in infrastructure selection and implementation. Manage staff within the Infrastructure team, including staff development, hiring, termination, evaluation, and functional definition. Keeps current on network, server, and storage technology issues through seminars, publications and self-education on an on-going basis.
Conforms to formal departmental methodology standards. Demonstrates effective behaviors as outlined in the organization-wide core competencies.
Requirements
Requires bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technology field. Requires ten years of relevant computer systems experience. Experience should include at least three years of experience in a management position supporting computing infrastructure and in a customer support role with high customer satisfaction goals.
Strong management and project management capabilities. Strong knowledge of local area and wide area network architectures, server technologies, storage systems, wireless technologies, and PC technologies. Vendor/contract and license management experience. Advanced computer skills utilizing MS Office, MS Exchange/Outlook and project management tools.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of hospital personnel, vendors and IT personnel. Must possess the ability to deliver clear, concise communications and presentations. Must be able to train others quickly and thoroughly on key IT concepts. Able and willing to travel about 25% of the time, as needed, to over 58 Garden.
