• PLEASANTON, CA, Salary Range: $22.00 - $26.00Hourly, Custodial Duties and Responsibilities Prepare, deliver, collect, and clean snack utensils twice daily, and maintain the daily snack supply for students. Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, refrigerators, and freezers. Collect classroom garbage, paper, and other recycling daily. Distribute and replenish supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, seat covers, tissues, gloves, and changing paper, as needed. Refill portable sinks twice daily. Sweep or blow outdoor areas according to the school’s daily or weekly schedule. Power wash playground equipment and clean exterior windows as needed. Perform minor building maintenance and repairs, including work on light bulbs, ceiling tiles, toilets, sinks, furniture, toys, and supplies, as assigned. Respond promptly to spills, accidents, child illness, and other immediate cleaning needs. Make deliveries between school locations as needed. Set up and take down tables and chairs for events, and assist with cleaning before Open House and other special events. Raise and lower the flag daily. Retrieve and store outdoor supplies twice daily. Remove spider webs from exterior areas as needed. Assist with weekly supply orders. Preschool Aide Duties and Responsibilities Arrive promptly for scheduled shifts and be ready to work. Follow The Quarry Lane School’s safety and health policies and applicable California child care licensing requirements. Remain alert and provide appropriate visual supervision of students at all times. Plan, supervise, and implement curriculum in accordance with school policies and procedures. Use the school’s nonpunitive approach to classroom discipline, including redirection to address student behavior. Treat all children with dignity and respect. Drive school vans to pick up students after school.

Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge, and Education Prior to hire, completion of 12 postsecondary semester units, or equivalent quarter units, in early childhood education or child development from an accredited or approved college or university, with grades of C or better. Coursework that covers child growth and development; child, family, and community; and program or curriculum.

At least six months of work experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program, including at least three hours per day for a minimum of 50 consecutive working days within a six-month period. Official transcripts verifying the required coursework. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to move frequently between sitting and standing, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, and walk extensively.

The employee must be able to move quickly when needed to help ensure student safety; perform moderate manual labor; and work indoors and outdoors. Preschool teaching duties may require lifting up to 30 pounds. Custodial duties may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
