Position Summary
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for leading daily dining operations, floor management, and service excellence across Paws Up Montana's restaurant outlets and catered functions. Responsible for driving guest satisfaction, managing operational flow, and fostering team performance, this role implements training programs that uphold Forbes-level luxury standards.
By combining a passion for food, beverage, and hospitality with strong business acumen, the Restaurant Manager manages labor efficiency, service pacing, and operational budgets to deliver an exceptional Western luxury dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Direct daily restaurant meal services, ensuring seamless table pacing, refined room presentation, and anticipatory guest engagement across all dining periods. Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, hire, train, coach, and mentor front-of-house restaurant staff; develop and enforce service training programs to maintain property luxury standards.
Staffing & Labor Optimization: Create weekly shift schedules based on resort occupancy and business volume, managing labor expectations and overtime to align with operating budgets. Lineup & Culinary Coordination: Lead daily Food & Beverage lineup meetings, ensuring staff are knowledgeable on menu profiles, preparation methods, beverage pairings, allergens, and special guest requests.
Beverage & Financial Oversight: Monitor restaurant sales, beverage cost controls, inventory counts, and waste management to ensure departmental financial goals are met or exceeded. POS & Systems Management: Oversee and utilize core operational technology platforms, including Point of Sale (POS) and Open. Table reservation systems, ensuring accurate data entry and seamless floor flow.
Guest Relations & Problem Resolution: Actively engage with guests in the dining room, addressing feedback promptly and professionally to elevate overall guest satisfaction. Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Food & Beverage or General Manager of Food & Beverage.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3+ years of restaurant management experience in a luxury resort, hotel, or high-end fine dining environment. Specialized Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of luxury hospitality standards, fine dining operations, wine, spirits, craft cocktails, and food allergy/safety regulations. Core Skills: Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills; detail-oriented, organized, and effective under high-volume operational pressure.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Point of Sale (POS) platforms, Open. Table reservation software, inventory tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Work Style: Energetic, adaptable, and service-driven leader with a collaborative management style and polished, professional presentation. Licensing/Certification: Valid State Driver’s License (with at least two years of driving experience), TIPS Certification, and Valid Food Handler’s Permit; Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements Mobility & Stamina: Ability to frequently stand, walk, move, and work on your feet across restaurant floor spaces for extended periods during shift operations. Scheduling: Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays to support resort dining demand.
Lifting & Handling: Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull dining trays, beverage cases, tables, and restaurant equipment weighing up to 40–50 lbs.
