Welding

Description Job Purpose Analyze specifications, lay out material, set up and operate welding equipment, and fit and assemble parts to fabricate a trailer.

Duties and Responsibilities

Metal Fabrication. MiG welding, including the following: Create quality welds according to specifications. Inspect welds for accuracy. Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel parts. Change wire, welding, as needed. Change gas tanks, as needed. Plasma Cutting. Oxygen/Acetylene torch.

Responsible for the proper identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location. Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use. Operate fork lift, if required and trained. Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by standards.

Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required. Hydraulic Diagnostic and Repair. Electrical Diagnostic and Repair. Perform simple maintenance and repair as required. Perform other duties, assignments, and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environment. Be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary to move equipment around in the department. This is a safety sensitive position.
