After School Program Worker

Responsibilities

Supervise a class of 15 students. Provide a safe, orderly and nurturing environment where students complete their daily homework assignments. Create productive classroom routines and procedures. Communicate clear expectations for student behavior. Provide encouragement, correction, incentives and consequences. Communicate with classroom teachers for direction on homework or any individual student interventions.

Closely track attendance. Setup and cleanup snack and manage snack records. Participate in regular staff meetings.

Requirements

High School diploma minimum, some college experience is preferred Experience working with children Completion of regular trainings to comply with ODE licensing requirements, including CPR/First Aid Satisfies or working towards qualities of deacons as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 Cultural awareness and sensitivity Passion for working with inner-city youth and helping them succeed Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Please note that Harambee Christian School is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, or any other factor.
