Job description
A private family in Dubai is seeking a highly qualified, polished, and discreet Professional Nanny to provide exceptional care, early-years development, and day-to-day support for their 2-year-old child . The Nanny will be responsible for the child’s physical, emotional, social, and developmental wellbeing, creating a nurturing, stimulating, and structured environment in accordance with international childcare standards and the family’s values.
This is a highly trusted position requiring a professional who is culturally aware, adaptable, and experienced within high-profile or UHNWI households. The successful candidate will work closely with Her Excellency, alongside a structured domestic and security team, to ensure the highest standards of childcare, development, safety, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Early Years Development & Learning Provide age-appropriate developmental activities tailored to the child’s individual interests, abilities, and stage of development. Create a structured daily programme incorporating play, learning, reading, music, arts, sensory activities, outdoor time, and exploration. Support the child’s cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional development.
Encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence, communication, and early independence. Support language development and multilingual exposure, with English essential and Arabic or French advantageous. Coordinate with private tutors, specialists, and other professionals where required. Observe and record developmental milestones and provide regular updates to the parents.
Daily Care, Routine & Wellbeing Provide attentive, hands-on care for the 2-year-old child throughout the day. Establish and maintain a consistent but flexible routine covering meals, rest, play, learning, outings, and bedtime. Prepare and serve nutritious meals, snacks, and drinks in accordance with the family’s instructions and the child’s dietary requirements.
Support age-appropriate independence, including dressing, personal hygiene, mealtimes, and other daily routines. Provide gentle, responsive, and emotionally nurturing care, creating a secure and trusting relationship with the child. Maintain a calm, positive, and stimulating environment. Manners, Social Skills & Personal Development Teach and reinforce age-appropriate manners, respectful behaviour, and positive social interaction.
Encourage emotional awareness, confidence, independence, and consideration for others. Introduce the child to age-appropriate cultural, educational, and enrichment experiences. Plan and supervise outings, playdates, cultural activities, museums, and other experiences in line with the family’s preferences and values. Health, Safety & Hygiene Maintain the highest standards of health, hygiene, and safety at all times.
Monitor the child’s health and immediately report any signs of illness, allergy, injury, or discomfort to the parents. Administer medication, vitamins, or supplements only in accordance with parental or medical instructions. Maintain clean, organised, and hygienic child-related spaces. Ensure appropriate childproofing and safety procedures are followed both inside and outside the home.
Maintain excellent personal hygiene and professional presentation at all times. Child-Related Organisation Keep the child’s bedroom, playroom, wardrobe, and personal areas organised and maintained to a high standard. Organise toys, books, learning materials, and personal belongings. Manage the child’s clothing and ensure outfits are prepared appropriately for daily activities, outings, formal occasions, and travel.
Monitor child-related supplies and ensure essentials are available when required. Coordinate with other household staff to ensure the child’s needs are consistently met. Travel Travel with the family domestically and internationally as required. Maintain the child’s routines, comfort, development, and wellbeing while travelling.
Prepare and pack all items required for the child, including clothing, toiletries, food, medication, documents, toys, and comfort items. Adapt confidently to different climates, time zones, residences, and schedules. Maintain the highest standards of childcare and safety when travelling by private jet, yacht, luxury hotel, or between family residences.
Communication & Team Coordination Maintain open and professional communication with Her Excellency and the Chief of Staff . Provide regular verbal and written updates regarding the child’s activities, meals, sleep, mood, behaviour, health, and development. Maintain accurate records and observations where appropriate. Work closely with the Household Manager, chef, driver, medical staff, and other household personnel.
Follow instructions carefully while using initiative to anticipate the child’s needs. Communicate promptly regarding anything that may affect the child’s wellbeing or the smooth running of their care. Confidentiality & Professional Conduct Maintain the highest level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
Respect the family’s privacy, traditions, cultural values, and household protocols. Be culturally aware and respectful of Middle Eastern traditions and Islamic values. Maintain a calm, soft-spoken, polite, and composed manner. Demonstrate loyalty, honesty, reliability, responsibility, commitment, and integrity. Maintain professional boundaries while developing a warm and trusted relationship with the child and family.
Be adaptable and open to the family’s preferred childcare methods, routines, and schedules. Maintain impeccable personal presentation and hygiene.
Requirements
Education
& Qualifications Formal childcare qualification or training is highly preferred.
Qualifications
such as Norland, Montessori, CACHE Level 3, Early Years, Child Development, or equivalent are advantageous. Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification is required or highly desirable. Experience Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working as a Professional Nanny within a UHNWI, royal, diplomatic, or similarly high-profile private household.
Strong experience caring for toddlers and young children. Proven understanding of early-years development and age-appropriate childcare. Experience working as part of a structured household team. Previous international travel with families is highly advantageous. Ability to adapt to changing schedules and high household standards.
Languages Fluent/native English speaker is essential, with British English strongly preferred. Arabic, French, or other additional languages are advantageous. Personal Attributes Highly professional, discreet, and trustworthy. Warm, nurturing, patient, and emotionally mature. Calm under pressure and able to handle demanding situations with composure.
Highly organised, proactive, and attentive to detail. Culturally sensitive and respectful. Impeccable personal presentation and hygiene. Flexible and adaptable. Genuine passion for childcare and early-years development. Comfortable working within a highly structured and fully staffed private household. Other Requirements Valid international passport with the ability to travel on short notice.
Up-to-date Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification. Clean enhanced background check, such as DBS or international equivalent. Non-smoker. Willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Strong professional references.
