EMS Director
Job description
Accountable for managing, planning, organizing and reviewing activities and functions of the Emergency Medical Services department. Responsible for development and modification of the Emergency Preparedness Plan and other Joint Commission activities. Oversee Emergency Medical Services Operations by managing, planning, organizing, and evaluating all activities and functions of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department.
Develop and Maintain Emergency Preparedness Programs to ensure organizational readiness and compliance with emergency response standards and regulations. Lead Emergency Preparedness Plan Updates by reviewing, revising, and implementing modifications to the Emergency Preparedness Plan as needed. Ensure Joint Commission Compliance by coordinating, monitoring, and supporting accreditation activities, audits, and regulatory requirements related to emergency preparedness and patient safety.
Drive Continuous Improvement and Staff Readiness by assessing departmental performance, identifying process improvements, and promoting emergency response training and preparedness initiatives. Performs related duties as required. Required: Education: Bachelor Degree. Licensure/Certification: State Paramedic NR EMT-P within 6 months of starting job BLS and ACLS PALS or PEPP within orientation period Preferred: Experience: 5 years Emergency Medical Services.
