Under general supervision, the Interventional Rad Technologist performs vascular, non-vascular, and/or neuro interventional procedures. Primary Duties: Performs basic clinical duties for vascular, non-vascular, and/or neuro-interventional procedures across various patient populations, including patient monitoring, contrast administration, sterile technique, and functioning as scrub or circulating technologist as needed.

Provides comprehensive patient care by obtaining histories, explaining procedures, providing education and emotional support, monitoring patients’ physiological needs, and escalating concerns appropriately. Maintains a safe, clean, and efficient procedural environment by preparing patient rooms, managing supplies and inventory, operating and maintaining equipment, performing quality control, and promptly reporting issues.

Coordinates patient flow and communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team; documents care in electronic health record systems and ensures timely distribution of final images to PACS. Supports department and organizational quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives; participates in training and education, follows regulatory and departmental standards, and consistently demonstrates professionalism and adherence to ARRT Standards of Ethics.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree as a Radiologic Technologist (Required) Vocational/Technical Diploma Or Certificate (before Jan.1, 2015) in Radiologic Technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE), Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) 6 months' experience in an interventional radiology environment (VIR, NIR, Cardiac Cath) (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications: ARRT - license as a Registered Radiation Technologist in the state of Maryland within 90 days (Required) Licensed Radiologic Technologist State of MD/ VA if applicable upon hire (Required) Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification upon hire (Required) CPR

  • Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR
  • Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 days (Required) ACLS
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (Preferred) This position has a hiring range of USD $42.82
