At Coffee Cup Travel Plazas, our team is our most important guest. We’re looking for a Lube & Tire Technician to join our TA Truck Service team in Summit, SD.

What You’ll Do As a Lube & Tire Technician, you will provide efficient, quality service to heavy-duty trucks and trailers while helping keep our customers safely and efficiently on the road.

Your responsibilities

Perform routine preventative maintenance and lubrication services on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Perform tire inspections, repairs, mounting, dismounting, balancing, rotations, and replacements as applicable. Inspect vehicles and identify worn, damaged, or unsafe components. Assist with basic diagnostics and repairs within your training and capabilities.

Identify service needs and communicate recommendations to customers and team members. Follow TA Truck Service standard procedures and specialized customer service programs. Maintain accurate service records and documentation. Safely operate and maintain shop tools, equipment, and service areas. Follow all company, OSHA, and safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Work cooperatively with technicians, service team members, and management. Provide professional and courteous service while helping create a positive customer experience. Follow oral and written instructions and complete assigned work efficiently and accurately. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in doing the job right.

The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience with heavy-duty trucks, tires, lubrication, or preventative maintenance preferred. Basic mechanical knowledge and a willingness to continue developing technical skills. The ability to safely use common hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.

Good verbal communication and customer service skills. Basic computer skills. The ability to work independently while also being a dependable member of a team. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. The ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays. The ability to work in varying weather conditions and a fast-paced service environment.

Compensation

Earn $20–$25 per hour or your earned commission, whichever is greater. Paid weekly. Additional opportunities include: Premium pay for qualifying overnight shifts. Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and reach. Work around and underneath heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Safely handle tires, tools, parts, and other equipment. Work in outdoor and varying weather conditions as needed.
