On Call Guest Teacher

Paid On-Call Substitute Teacher Position Type: On-Call / Substitute Reports To: Program Head / School Administrator Location: Eastside Academy – Bellevue, WA Position Summary The Paid On-Call Substitute Teacher provides classroom coverage when a regular teacher is absent. The substitute helps maintain a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment by following the teacher’s plans, supervising students, and supporting normal classroom routines.

Essential Responsibilities Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular teacher. Supervise students and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment. Take attendance and follow school procedures. Provide basic assistance to students with assigned work. Maintain classroom expectations and school behavior standards.

Communicate significant student concerns or incidents to the appropriate staff member. Follow school policies related to safety, technology, confidentiality, and student supervision. Leave notes for the regular teacher regarding completed work, student participation, and any concerns. Perform other reasonable duties related to substitute coverage as assigned.

Qualifications

College coursework or a degree required, degree in education or a related field is preferred. Active teaching certificate preferred. Experience working with high school students preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and student confidentiality. Commitment to supporting a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment. Schedule This is a paid, on-call position . Substitute teachers are contacted as coverage needs arise and may accept or decline individual assignments based on availability.

Compensation

$27.00-$32.00 Physical Requirements The position requires the ability to move throughout the school, supervise students, and perform normal classroom duties.
