• Environmental/Construction Summary: As part of the Vac Department the main role is operating one of our liquid vacs or guzzlers. This role also supports our Environmental Dept. with drum pick ups, spill responses and clean ups, and works with the Construction Dept. as needed. This role is a good fit for a dependable driver who likes variety and staying busy.

Responsibilities

Primary – Liquid Vac/Guzzler (Vac Department) Sets up and operates industrial vacuum trucks, lifting, carrying and pulling hoses up to 100 pounds, climbing on the unit, minor maintenance. Check all waste related paperwork prior to transport for accuracy and complete information necessary (manifests, bill of lading, land disposal restriction forms); ensure proper placarding.

Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and required DOT logs. Secondary – Environmental Support Work with the Environmental team to pick up tanks and drums from customer sites. Safely load, secure, transport and unload tanks and drums, following proper labeling, handling and documentation procedures. Third – Construction Support (as needed) When no vac or environmental work is scheduled, assist the Construction Department with light construction labor, including shoveling, lifting and carrying materials, and general site cleanup.

Adhere to all safety protocols of MPS and the host facility along with DOT regulations and all local, state, and federal laws related to the work assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Clean CDL-B with Haz-Mat & Tank Endorsements (required). Class A preferred with no restrictions on manual transmissions. 2 Years of Liquid Vac or Guzzler experience (preferred). OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification. Ability to utilize mobile technology (iPad, tablet, etc.) Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and adjust between departments and tasks as daily workload changes. Able to perform physical labor, including shoveling and lifting, and to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Job requires frequent kneeling, bending, handling, reaching and standing.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in the following preferred, but willing to train the right candidate: Vacuum Truck / Guzzler Operations

• Hazardous Waste Manifest/ BOL Preparation. Tanker hauling and drum/container handling and transport. General construction labor.
