Procurement Engineer - Mechanical

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement process for all mechanical equipment, materials, and services required for the project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in strategic sourcing, negotiation, vendor management, and project management, with a strong understanding of cost effective procurement processes.

The role involves formulating procurement strategies, vendor evaluation, contract management, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: o Lead the site procurement of all mechanical equipment, materials, and services required for project execution. o Formulate and implement cost-effective and transparent procurement strategies aligned with project goals.
• Vendor Management: o Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers. o Source products and services through effective vendor development and negotiation techniques. o Evaluate vendors based on criteria such as rejection rates, quality improvement, timely delivery, and credit terms.
• Negotiation & Contract Management: o Negotiate purchase contracts and manage the entire contract lifecycle. o Ensure favorable terms and conditions for the organization while maintaining a fair and ethical approach with suppliers.
• Project Management: o Implement and monitor procurement schedules to align with project timelines. o Oversee the quality and quantity specifications of materials to ensure they meet project requirements. o Develop strategies for logistics, operations, and estimating site infrastructure needs.
• Compliance & Statutory Management: o Ensure procurement processes are in compliance with statutory regulations and industry standards. o Monitor and ensure zero non-conformances in procurement processes and deliverables.
• Vendor Evaluation & Performance Monitoring: o Evaluate vendors regularly based on quality, delivery performance, and financial terms. o Collaborate with vendors to drive continuous improvements in product and service delivery. Key Skills & Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience in strategic sourcing and procurement of mechanical equipment, materials, and services.
• Strong negotiation and project management skills.
• Proven experience in vendor development and managing supplier relationships.
• Knowledge of transparent, cost-effective procurement processes and practices.
• Experience in contract management, including negotiations and execution.
• Strong understanding of statutory issues and compliance requirements.
• Ability to monitor and manage procurement schedules effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

Education

& Experience:

• BE/BTech (Mechanical)
• 5-8 years of experience in Contracts and Procurement in the EPC industry.
