Monitor Technician/Telemetry Technician

Observes electrocardiogram (ECG) monitor and closed-circuit television (CCTV) and alert nurses and physicians to changes in the patient’s heart rate rhythm and the occurrence of arrhythmias. High School Graduate or GED Completion of Medical Assistant program – HIGHLY PREFERRED Successful completion of Rhythm Recognition Course – PREFERRED Prior experience as Telemetry Technician

• REQUIRED Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) A bility to operate cardiac monitors and EKG machines
• REQUIRED Ability to communicate effectively, and follow written and/or oral instructions. Ability to recognize myocardial infarction arrhythmia Strong quality customer service skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills Ability to recognize normal and abnormal arrhythmias
