Yard Load Builder Full Time

DEPARTMENT: Retail Store REPORTS TO: DDS Manager / Department 5 Manager FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt POSITION TYPE: Part-Time/Full-Time POSITION SUMMARY: The Load Builder is responsible for compiling loads of lumber and other construction materials for customer orders. They often operate a forklift or industrial truck to assist in moving and loading materials and products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide outstanding customer service Reads work order, invoice, or follows oral instructions to determine materials or containers needing moved, gathered, and/or loaded Operate forklift or industrial truck to assist in loading or moving merchandise and materials Load merchandise on to store delivery trucks for delivery or transfer Assist with unloading deliveries, as necessary Confirm quality, confirm quantity, and put away resell-able products from jobsite returns Track and cull / cut & mod lumber as needed Remove lumber from units and place boards in rack, according to grade and length Assist customers with loading purchased merchandise Maintain the appearance of the yard and racks in an orderly and clean manner Complete daily forklift inspections Adhere to Loss Prevention, inventory control, and compliance procedures Safety awareness of anything in store that may be hazard to employees or customers Effectively communicates customer issues and concerns to all applicable internal staff members Additional duties, as assigned REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: Strong work ethic Forklift experience is preferred Ability to: Read and comprehend simple verbal or written instructions Effectively communicate with customers, management, and co-workers Demonstrate initiative and effective problem-solving skills within the scope of the position Work in a fast-paced environment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
