Recycling Supervisor

Recycling Supervisor We have an immediate opening for a Recycling Supervisor who is enthusiastic and looking to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This leader’s core daily responsibilities include promoting a safety-first culture, maintaining high standards for housekeeping and work area organization, working toward production goals, and building relationships with team members through respect and clear communication.

Responsibilities

Oversee the staff assigned to their team – training, coaching, counselling, as well as time and attendance This position will manage the day-to-day operations while driving continuous improvement in all areas: Safety, Quality, Production Conduct routine audits for Safety of the equipment, work zones, 5S compliance, and LOTO compliance Conduct Safety ‘Toolbox Talks’ and lead team meetings as necessary to drive open dialog by the team about Safety issues Administer Safety Alerts as necessary to communicate safety issues within company.

Engage workforce to proactively identify Safety concerns / issues and provide suggestions for corrective actions. Motivate the team to be part of a solution to issues identified This position will coordinate with internal and external resources and ensure all East Jordan Plastics, Inc.

Plan and organize daily/weekly schedules with available resources to best meet shift goals with safety and quality being the focus Monitor workloads and employee utilization Monitor Yard inventory, material sorting, wash line, dry grinding, and pelletizing processes for safety, quality and rate per hour Oversea pelletizing process and check for quality mix and process rates Work with all departments to ensure safe working equipment and production of product Maintain a clean and safe work environment Required Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated focus on safety and housekeeping Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Maintain clean, orderly, and safe conditions throughout all areas of the facility by demonstrating strong housekeeping practices Comply with the Company's Corporate Recycling Policy Actively support and adhere to the Company's Commitment to Safety Policy to help maintain a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible workplace Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strategic thinker and problem solver Must be able to bend, twist, climb, stand, and lift items of up to 50lb Must be able to pass a background check, physical and drug screen Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Supervisory experience preferred 1-3 years’ experience in recycling plastics Benefits: Consistent work schedule GREAT Benefits Paid Time Off & Holiday Pay Work Boot & Uniform Program Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Retirement Plan - 401(k)
