  • This role will work from home and be out in the field meeting with customers, prospecting and networking in the Western Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska Areas. Candidate must live in the Kansas City, MO area. “A Day in the Life” As the Sales representative you will be responsible for developing strategies and tactics for identifying, pursuing and closing opportunities for renting and selling modular buildings across a variety of industry segments. Assist in the development of marketing plans to support sales activities. Build relationships with potential customers to establish trust and rapport. Develop strong relationship with manufacturers of modular buildings, as well as sub-contractors for transportation, installation and service. Demonstrate product knowledge to answer customer questions and inquiries and offer solutions to meet customer needs. Follow established processes in sales and implementation of the project. Ensure customers receive excellent service throughout the project life. Maintain accurate records in the division’s database on customer quotes, specifications and special requests; meet minimum entry requirements daily. Develop relationships within various networking organizations or industry associations. Achieve/exceed sales related quotas and goals. “Must Haves” 3 or more years experience in sales; results driven. Ability to travel within territory as needed, including some overnight travel Effective negotiation and closing skills. Understanding of the sales process and dynamics. Commitment to excellent customer service. Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate ideas in verbal, email and other written formats. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of motivation and a passion for sales. Proficiency with various computer programs including Microsoft Suite, Internet and other customer databases. Interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport with both customers and sales team while paying attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills. Demonstrated experience working in a process driven environment. Demonstrated skills in project and time management. Effective time management and able to work in a process driven environment. Confident, assertive, quick-thinking and able to make decisions within established guidelines. Valid Driver’s License In certain states, candidates are required to successfully obtain the HCD Commercial Coach Salesperson License within 10 weeks of their start date. “Nice to Haves” Prior experience in construction, modular or other related industries. Prior experience in the rental industry Physical Requirements & Role Expectations Ability to work in both office and field environments, including customer locations, inventory centers, and construction sites. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, climb stairs or ladders, and navigate uneven terrain during customer visits and site inspections. Ability to drive and travel locally and regionally to meet with customers, prospects, and internal teams. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions. Ability to lift, carry, move, or set up sales materials, product samples, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to sit, view computer screens, and use computers, tablets, mobile devices, and standard office equipment for extended periods. Ability to visually inspect customer sites, equipment, storage/office containers and/or modular buildings and use computers, tablets, or mobile devices to document physical observations and project requirements.
