Depalletizer Operator EM: (Can Line 1) - Nights

Can Line 1: Sunday-Tuesday 5:00pm-5:00am Wednesday 5:00pm-11:00pm Safety operates Depalletizer feeding damage free cans of proper size to filler. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Operate Depalletizer feeding one layer per sweep onto flat top conveyor. Visually inspecting can remove any damaged or supplier defects. Be sure all cans are upright positional.

Record each pallet of cans used. Record any damage per pallet used. Keep each supplier pallet tag. Clear line during can size changes or at end of production schedules. Clean machine and work area during downtime. Perform end of week sanitation. Participates as a member of the team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members.

Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Ability to lift 30 lbs. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hair net, ear plugs.

Travel: No travel. Technical Experience: Might be required to obtain and maintain a company issued forklift license. Industry Experience: Background in manufacturing. Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
