You fix the problem in front of you, then dig until you find what caused it. You write down what you learned so the next person can solve it on their own. You can walk an engineer through a new laptop setup in the morning and help a craftsman on the production floor get back into their account after lunch. You know when a problem needs to be escalated, and you hand it off with an actionable write-up.
You treat your coworkers as internal clients and close what you start.
A Day in the Life
End User Support: Serve as the primary support contact for employees across Engineering, Sales, Finance, HR, and Production. Configure, deploy, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and access issues with a white-glove, customer-focused approach. Manage the ticket queue against defined response and resolution targets, and keep requesters informed along the way.
Troubleshooting & Problem Management: Diagnose root cause rather than clearing the symptom, and escalate with a clear write-up when required. Investigate recurring tickets and propose the permanent fix. Troubleshoot the ERP and partner with the Software Development team on application issues. Support incident response during outages, including occasional after-hours events.
Endpoint & Asset Management: Enroll and configure devices through Intune, and enforce baseline policy across the fleet. Run the patch and update cadence for workstations and applications. Maintain an accurate hardware, software, and license inventory. Support hardware procurement and refresh planning. Accounts & Access: Handle user onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day account and permission changes in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
Support SSO, MFA, and guest access requests under policy set by the IT Ops team. Administer SaaS platforms including Microsoft Admin Center, Meraki, Mimecast, and Google Admin. Documentation & Knowledge: Write and maintain configuration documentation and knowledgebase articles end users can follow on their own. Govern Teams and SharePoint workspace standards, including naming, access, and lifecycle.
Collect feedback on IT service quality and act on what you hear. On-Site Expectations: 100% on-site position Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM After-hours and flexible hours sometimes required On call as needed for outages and critical updates This role splits time between office areas and an active manufacturing floor, with some walking, standing, bending, and kneeling to reach equipment.
You may need to lift up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 frequently, and 50 occasionally with assistance. Noise levels are typical of light manufacturing. Regularly travel between our Ashley River Campus (ARC - 4500 Leeds) and Cooper River Campus (CRC - 2120 Noisette) to support operations, attend meetings, and ensure seamless communication and collaboration across both locations.
What Will Set You Up for Success: 4+ years in a hands-on IT support role. Advanced end-user system configuration across Windows and macOS. Working Microsoft 365 administration experience, including accounts, licensing, Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint. Device management through Intune or a comparable MDM. Strong root cause analysis and a habit of documenting what you find.
Excellent written and verbal communication with internal customers at every level of the business. Ability to juggle competing requests and still close what you started. A team-oriented approach and willingness to back up your colleagues. What Will Impress Us: An associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft 365 certification. Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud services. Beginning scripting in PowerShell, Python, or Bash. Familiarity with IIS, SQL, and server-side configuration. Experience with endpoint hardening, conditional access, and SSO integrations. Practical use of AI tools to speed up daily IT work.
Support experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
