Laboratory Analyst

WHAT IS ON OFFER Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for four (4) Laboratory Analysts to join the Richards Bay Laboratory team on a six months fixed-term contract . This role is responsible for ensuring that work is followed according to documented methods and procedures. Ensuring at all times that high accuracy and precision is applied to methods and procedures through incorporating and promoting Good Laboratory Practice Principles.

To be successful at Alfred H Knight the incumbent will need to display the following: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE In this role you will be responsible to Ensure at all times that a high degree of accuracy and precision is applied to methods and procedures through incorporating and promoting good laboratory practice principles Ensure that work throughput is followed in accordance with documented methods and procedures.

It is the post holder’s responsibility to inform the Senior Analyst of any failure in compliance to documented methods Carry out the workload that is assigned to you and manage through the most cost-effective utilization of time and resources Advise the Senior Analyst of repetitive technical problems relating to day-to-day analytical procedures and standard operating practices Maintain records and laboratory data such that work is clearly and easily auditable and traceable Process analytical data unsupervised in preparation of results being reported Ensure the confidentiality of all results at all times Ensure laboratory equipment and instruments are well maintained at all times with faulty equipment being brought to the attention of the Senior Analyst immediately Perform routine maintenance of equipment as instructed by the Senior Analyst Perform instrument calibrations when required, routinely performing instrument checks and recording all relevant data, as instructed by the Senior Analyst Ensure that all laboratory work areas and workstations are kept clean and tidy, i.
