OPEN TO THE PUBLIC SHIFT: 1ST SCHEDULE: MON.-FRI. 8AM-5PM WAGE: $14.00 PART TIME/ FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE POSTED DATE: 10/14/2026-10/19/2026 Eligible Employer for Public Student Loan Forgiveness as a non-profit Under the supervision of Sales and Events Coordinator, provide outstanding customer service to guests for potential retail sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Promote retail sales by implementing secure, efficient point of sales service to all customers. Maintain and stock sales areas, shelving, as well as inventory storage areas; rotate inventory as needed. Provide information and education to customers about the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and the tribal customs and traditions as it pertains to sales items.

Answer customer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise. Responsible for operating software programs related to incentive sales programs. Responsible for operating the cash register, daily records and the proper handling of cash including bank count at beginning of shift. Sets up advertising displays, polish jewelry and arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.

Calculate price and tax on merchandise to be purchased by customer; accept payment and make change. Wrap or bag merchandise for customers. Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times. Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have good communication skills, good computer skills, and the ability to handle tasks in a busy environment. Must be able to work various shifts and days as business trends indicate. Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.

Desired Qualifications: Retail experience. License, Certification, or Special Requirements: Native American preference shall apply to all positions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of basic arithmetic. Knowledge of cash register operations, sales methods and techniques. Skill in accurately using a cash register and making change.

Skill in providing excellent customer service. Ability to correctly calculate change. Ability to communicate and carry out instructions effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Physical Demands: Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment. Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time, bend, and reach with arms and hands. Occasionally sit. Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment: Retail environment. May be exposed to second hand smoke. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
