Lead Custodian

Responsibilities

Leads, guides, and/or trains custodians in applicable procedures and techniques. Dusts Mops Floors Vacuum Carpets Cleans Restrooms and restocks paper and soap supplies. Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal. Locks doors after cleaning areas. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to work weekends. Please note that a background check, e-quip, credit check, and drug screening must be passed for this role. The e-quip process can take up to 6 months to finalize. Favorable E-quip results must be in before the candidate is able to start. Valid Texas Drivers’ License Class C.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment. Ability to understand verbal instructions. Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies. Ability to lead and train.

Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects. Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
