Are you a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse passionate about making a difference? Join our team and provide compassionate, specialized care to patients with facial paralysis and related disorders while working alongside a dedicated surgical team to deliver exceptional, coordinated patient care. We are looking for a nurse to: Provide clinical nursing support in a facial plastics practice specializing in facial nerve disorders, including assisting physician during cosmetic aesthetic consultation and procedures Coordinate care for patients with facial paralysis, synkinesis, hemifacial spasm, and related conditions Perform patient assessment, triage, and clinical follow-up Provide pre- and postoperative education and care Assist with office-based procedures and chemodenervation treatments Coordinate imaging, testing, referrals, and medical clearances Manage patient calls, portal messages, and ongoing clinical needs Facilitate multidisciplinary care and serve as a liaison between patients and the surgeon Support efficient clinic workflow and continuity of care Provides clinical support to the cosmetic physician assistant The Registered Nurse provides safe therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way, incorporating differences into the provision of care.

Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum to include patient and family education. Relies on education and training to complete responsibilities within scope of licensure as registered nurse. The LPN Clinic is responsible for providing patient care following established standards and practices.

Assists physician, nurse, and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and patient access. Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, procedures, tests and referrals. May serve as a preceptor for clinical staff. Relies on guidelines to accomplish tasks. Relies on some experience and judgment to complete job.

Works under general supervision. May lead and direct the work of others within scope of practice. Registered Nurse Clinical Practice and Care Management Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrates changing data Formulates a plan of care based on trends of similar patients, including patient education and discharge planning.

Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs. (i.e., Treatment options patient placement options, end of life options) Responds to changes in patient's needs and provides holistic care using independent clinical judgment based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.

Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care. Collaborates with patients/families to identify realistic desired outcomes. Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care, determines immediate priorities, and offers solution for problems.

Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict. Identifies variances from expected outcomes. Evaluates patient outcomes and makes revisions in the plan of care. Documents all patient care activities as per documentation standards. Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process.

Communication and Collaboration Consistently communicates/collaborates with the health care team members, patients, and families to maximize patient outcomes. Appropriately delegates patient care activities to other health care team members and participates in making and revising staff assignments to achieve maximum productivity.

Maintains knowledge regarding unit initiatives and incorporates the outcomes of the team/committees work into practice. Participates on unit teams, work groups and/or committees. Anticipates needs and voluntarily assists others. Quality Demonstrates knowledge of unit-based quality improvement initiatives. Participates in quality improvement initiatives by utilizing standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

Incorporates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice to enhance outcomes. Professional Development Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to health care team members; displays leadership behaviors. Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals.

Accountable for all documentation and completion of all required continuing education and competencies relevant to area of practice as defined by clinical management. Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.

Leadership skills in critical thinking, decision-making, and problem solving. Licensed Practical Nurse Responsibilities

  1. Patient Care: Observes, records and reports (to physician) patient's condition and reaction to drugs and/or treatments. Instructs patient/family regarding diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and health/wellness issues. Performs selected nursing duties, including documenting patient history, vital signs, immunizations and allergies. Prepares, stocks and cleans exam room and maintains supplies and equipment for treatment.
  2. Coordination of Care: Provides complex and basic nursing care measures to all age groups. Assists physician with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Responsible for appointment and referral scheduling, chart management, providing information and instructions to patients, and coordinating patient flow. Prepares exam room and assists physician during examination, treatment and testing of patient.
  3. Quality: Administers prescribed medications/treatments in accordance with nursing standards. May perform phlebotomy and EKG's and assist with flex sigmoidoscopies. Observes and adheres to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures, and follows all safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards. Utilizes all equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources in a prudent and efficient manner in order to ensure efficient departmental operations and the provision of high-quality health care services. Observes and adheres to quality standards established by the department. Participates in continuous quality improvement programs in order to foster the provision of quality health care services by the department and hospital and ensures that all services are provided with compassion, understanding, and respect for others.
  4. Other Duties as Assigned Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Registered Nurse Experience, Education, Training, Special Skills, and Licensure: Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing Skills: Proficient in the English language, verbal and written communication skills, computer skills Licensure: Current Louisiana State license as RN and BLS certification Licesnsed Practical Nurse Experience, Education, Training, Special Skills, and Licensure: Graduate of an accredited LPN school Proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills and computer skills Current Louisiana State license as LPN and BLS certification.
