As a Transportation Driver, you will provide safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for Larksfield Place residents participating in organized outings, excursions, and community events. This is an event-based transportation position. Driving assignments will be scheduled according to resident activities and special events rather than a regular daily transportation route.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate Larksfield Place passenger shuttle buses for scheduled resident outings, excursions, and group activities. Transport residents to destinations such as shopping centers, parks, restaurants, entertainment venues, and community events. Assist residents with safely boarding and exiting shuttle buses, including the appropriate use of wheelchair lifts, ramps, and other accessibility equipment when applicable.

Ensure passengers are safely seated and secured before operating the vehicle. Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions. Follow all applicable traffic laws, CDL regulations, passenger transportation requirements, and organizational safety procedures. Maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming vehicle environment.

Coordinate with Life Enrichment and other departments regarding transportation schedules, destinations, and resident needs. Provide courteous, professional assistance to residents throughout transportation assignments. Report vehicle maintenance concerns, safety issues, accidents, or incidents promptly. Maintain accurate transportation records, inspection documentation, and other required records.

Represent Larksfield Place professionally while interacting with residents, families, and members of the community. What Do You Need? Required Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) Endorsement – Required. CDL must be of the appropriate class for the passenger shuttle buses operated.

Acceptable driving record and ability to meet organizational vehicle insurance requirements. Ability to safely operate passenger shuttle buses and comply with applicable commercial driving regulations. Strong commitment to passenger safety and customer service. Dependability, punctuality, and excellent communication skills.

Ability to assist older adults with safely boarding and exiting shuttle buses, including assisting with accessibility equipment when applicable. Ability to successfully complete applicable pre-employment screening and driver qualification requirements. Availability for scheduled resident outings, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience operating passenger shuttle buses, commercial passenger vehicles, or similar transportation equipment. Experience transporting older adults or individuals with mobility limitations. Previous experience in senior living, hospitality, or passenger transportation. Familiarity with the Wichita area and surrounding communities.

Current CPR and First Aid certification. Schedule & Employment Status PRN – As Needed This position is designed specifically to support planned resident outings, group activities, and special events. Hours will vary based on the community's scheduled activities and transportation needs. Assignments may include weekday, evening, or weekend outings.

There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours or regularly assigned weekly schedule. Advance notice of scheduled outings will be provided whenever possible. Potential exists for the position to transition into part-time employment in the future, depending on operational needs. This position does not involve routine daily transportation routes or regularly scheduled medical appointment transportation.
