Labourer/Trainee
Job description
Do you enjoy working outdoors, have a passion for plants and green spaces, and love seeing the results of your work? We're looking for a Labourer/Trainee (Gardener) to join our team at Burnham Military Camp. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while helping maintain the gardens, green spaces, and outdoor environments that support New Zealand Defence Force personnel.
No experience? No problem. We'll provide the training, mentoring, and support you need to develop practical skills, gain industry knowledge, and build a long-term career in horticulture and grounds maintenance. Whether you're leaving school, changing careers, or looking for a fresh start, this is a great opportunity to learn valuable skills, gain practical experience, and build a future in the horticulture and parks maintenance industry.
What You’ll Be Doing | Ngā Kawenga Takohanga Planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, and garden maintenance Supporting grounds and landscape maintenance activities Learning to safely use horticultural tools and equipment Working alongside experienced team members Following health, safety, and environmental standards Interacting professionally with NZDF personnel, contractors, and site users What We’re Looking For | Ā Mātou e Rapu Ana: Interest in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture Positive attitude and willingness to learn Enjoy physical outdoor work Commitment to health and safety Full Class 1 licence preferred Able to meet NZDF security requirements Right to work in New Zealand Benefits | Ngā painga Full training, mentoring, and support from experienced team members Opportunity to gain horticultural and industry qualifications Stable, full-time employment PPE and equipment provided Mō Mātou | About Us Citycare Property is a proudly Kiwi-owned, values-driven organisation focused on building, maintaining, and renewing Aotearoa's social infrastructure.
