Paraprofessional - Multiple Positions

Plum Borough School District is seeking caring, dedicated Paraprofessionals to join our team for the 2026�2027 school year . Multiple school locations are available. Position Highlights Hourly wage: $20.85 per hour Work schedule: 7-hour school days; 186 school days per year/10 month position Professional development: 20 additional hours of paid professional learning annually.

Paid time off: Four (4) personal days, Nine (9) sick days, and paid Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Position Overview

The Paraprofessional provides vital support to students and instructional staff to promote academic success, student independence, and positive school experiences in an inclusive and welcoming environment. This position supports students with academic activities, classroom routines, positive behavior strategies, and personal care needs, as appropriate.

The Paraprofessional works collaboratively with teachers and other members of the educational team to help students thrive.

Essential Duties

Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to support student learning in classrooms, small groups, or individually. Assist with academic activities and reinforce instructional content. Implement positive behavior strategies under the direction of the supervising teacher or administration. Support students with daily routines and provide personal care assistance when needed.

Encourage and model independence, confidence, and positive interactions. Use effective communication and interpersonal skills when working with students, families, and staff. Maintain student confidentiality and contribute to a respectful, safe learning environment. Participate in required professional development, training, and meetings.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher, building principal, or administration. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. CPR/AED certification is required and may be completed after hire. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to maintain student confidentiality and follow district standards.

Ability to assist students physically as needed, including with mobility and personal care support. Ability to remain actively engaged throughout the school day.

Preferred Qualifications

Forty-eight college credits. Associate's degree. Completion of the Pennsylvania Special Education Paraeducator Credential of Competency with a passing score through the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN).
