Test Sustaining Lead
Job description
Change the world. Love your job. The Linear Power team is looking for bright engineers to drive our next generation of cutting-edge power products across Automotive, Industrial, Data Center, and Personal Electronics markets. As traditional power architectures rapidly transition toward higher power, higher voltage, and functionally safe systems, our team is actively developing highly differentiated solutions by pushing the boundaries of silicon process, advanced packaging, IP design, and test engineering.
We believe in acquiring deep end-equipment knowledge, solving complex high-voltage challenges to achieve the best performance for the application. Our teams define, design, verify, validate, and take products to high-volume manufacturing through deep involvement with customers and a thorough understanding of the market - across a broad portfolio of Power Path Protection, High-Side Switches, Precision References, Power Monitoring Solutions, and best-in-class LDOs.
Join this team if you want to be at the forefront of power design and shape the future of semiconductors. Test Sustaining Lead (JD) Summary This role owns production continuity and test health for released products, driving rapid resolution of manufacturing and yield issues while building a proactive sustaining system, guiding multiple engineers.
The engineer leads root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and cross-functional problem solving across design, quality, and operations teams. Sustaining learnings are systematically fed back to new product development to strengthen future product, validation, and test strategies.
What You Will Do
As Sustaining Lead, you will own production stability end-to-end - resolving critical manufacturing, test, yield, and reliability issues with urgency while eliminating recurring problems through rigorous root-cause and permanent corrective action. You will develop and execute strategies to continuously improve yield and reduce test cost across the product portfolio, working directly with factory teams to implement solutions and sustain gains on the production floor.
You will identify trends and risks before they escalate, continuously improve the sustaining process (prioritization, escalation, closure, and automation), and drive measurable improvements in test coverage, test time, and overall product robustness. You will partner closely with Test, Product, Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to close complex issues and build a structured feedback loop that transfers sustaining learnings into development to improve future designs and test strategies.
You will establish clear ownership and accountability within the sustaining team and develop the team's technical problem-solving capabilities.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an engineer with hands-on ATE and production test experience - including familiarity with ETS800 or V98K tester platforms (software and hardware) - a strong background in structured problem solving (8D, RCCA, or equivalent), and a track record of driving yield and cost improvements in a high-volume manufacturing environment, leading a small team.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical judgment, strong analog fundamental skills and pcb design experience with cross-functional leadership - able to work across design, quality, factory, and operations teams, influence without direct authority, and build systems and processes that scale. Experience with sustaining metrics, data analysis, and proactive risk identification is essential; prior team leadership or ownership of a sustaining or NPI-to-sustaining transition is a strong plus Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 5+ years of relevant experience ATE experience on Teradyne Eagle or equivalent analog ATE (i.
Flex, LTX, VLCT), although Eagle experience is preferred and is a differentiator Characterization test program and hardware development experience, Production test program and hardware development experience Strong technical knowledge of electronic devices and circuits, and Analog test techniques Data analysis skills using Spotfire, data.
Power or equivalent tool based on STDF Experience with product engineering activities such as yield improvement and test time reduction Strong understanding of the IC product development process, from concept to volume production Preferred qualifications: Analog/Mixed signal test techniques and experience Experienced with test program and hardware offload to TI offshore manufacturing sites Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
