Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Reports To: Controller Overview The Fountainhead Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end closings, and ensuring compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and general ledger transactions. Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports. Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash-related transactions.

Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany accounting activities as needed. Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis. Assist with annual audits and requests from external accounting firm. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.

Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, Human Resources, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial data accuracy. Maintain the fixed asset register, record additions and disposals, and calculate depreciation. Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum of three years of accounting experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment. The Staff Accountant proactively identifies and resolves discrepancies, maintains strong internal controls, and continuously looks for ways to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
