Associate or Full Professor (Ladder/In-Residence) Scientist or Physician-Scientist in Dermatology

The Department of Dermatology at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Department is seeking accomplished Scientists or Physician-Scientists at the Associate or Full Professor rank to advance knowledge in Dermatology through basic research in Cutaneous Biology.

The candidates will join a dynamic and productive group of independent investigators with research programs that include Immunology, Microbiology, Developmental Biology, or Cancer Biology in the skin. The successful candidates will teach, perform research, participate in university service, and may choose to have clinical duties.

Clinical duties may include the delivery of outpatient and inpatient dermatologic care with a subspecialty focus, which is possible based on the candidate's training and clinical experience. Once established, the scientists will be expected to compete for and secure research funding at the regional and national levels, as well as develop and maintain an innovative, extramurally funded research program and provide leadership within the Department/University wide for senior faculty.

The appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding or 100% Ladder Rank.
