Description Ally Psychiatry | Etowah County Jail | Gadsden, Alabama Full-Time | Onsite | Salary + Benefits About the Opportunity Ally Psychiatry is seeking a compassionate and motivated Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to join our behavioral health team serving patients at Etowah County Jail in Gadsden, Alabama.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals with behavioral health needs through psychosocial assessments, suicide risk assessments, therapeutic services, resource coordination, and discharge planning. The ideal candidate is organized, empathetic, and comfortable working in a structured correctional healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct psychosocial assessments to evaluate patients’ mental health needs, social circumstances, and support systems. Perform suicide risk assessments and assist with appropriate safety planning and clinical coordination. Identify community resources and coordinate referrals for mental health treatment, substance use services, housing, and other support needs.

Develop and coordinate discharge plans to promote continuity of care following release or transfer. Provide individual and/or group therapy, as appropriate to licensure, qualifications, and facility needs. Assist with probate court-related matters and coordinate with relevant agencies and stakeholders. Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical providers, correctional staff, and other members of the treatment team.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation. Advocate for patients and help connect them with appropriate behavioral health and community services.

Requirements

Active Alabama LBSW or LMSW license in good standing. Strong assessment, communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Compassionate, professional approach when working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Ability to work onsite in a correctional setting and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Correctional, inpatient, behavioral health, or crisis assessment experience is a plus.
