Position Overview

Buddy V’s Ristorante is seeking a friendly, energetic, and organized Host/Hostess to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, takes pride in delivering exceptional guest service, and creates a welcoming first impression for every guest who walks through our doors. As the first point of contact for our guests, the Host/Hostess plays an essential role in establishing the restaurant’s hospitality standards.

This individual must be able to remain calm, professional, and positive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while ensuring guests are greeted promptly and seated efficiently. Previous hosting or reservations experience is preferred. Candidates must have flexible availability, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, as well as the ability to work weekday shifts as needed.

Essential Responsibilities Greet all guests promptly and warmly, creating a welcoming and positive first impression. Manage the seating process efficiently, ensuring guests are directed to their tables in a timely and organized manner. Maintain an organized host stand and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, especially during peak service periods.

Answer incoming phone calls professionally and assist guests with questions regarding reservations, wait times, and restaurant information. Manage reservations accurately and communicate guest requests and seating preferences to the appropriate team members. Utilize computer systems and reservation platforms to manage guest information, reservations, and seating arrangements.

Assist with administrative tasks and paperwork as needed. Communicate effectively with servers, management, and other team members to maintain smooth restaurant operations. Address guest concerns and requests professionally, working with the team to resolve issues and exceed guest expectations. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while upholding the restaurant’s service standards.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a host, hostess, or in restaurant reservations is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and guest relations skills. Strong telephone etiquette and professional communication skills. Computer proficiency and the ability to learn reservation and restaurant management systems. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain calm under pressure. Positive, energetic, and welcoming personality with a genuine passion for hospitality. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment. Flexible availability, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and weekdays as needed.
