Bottle Prep and Shipping handling Technician

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Bottle Prep and Shipping handling Technician to join our environmental testing laboratory. This position is responsible for preparing sample collection bottles, assembling sampling kits, packing and shipping supplies, and maintaining inventory. The ideal candidate is organized, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in completing orders accurately and on time.

What You Will Do

Prepare sample collection bottles and sampling kits according to client requests and approved laboratory procedures. Select the correct bottle types, sizes, quantities, and preservatives for the requested testing. Inspect bottles, caps, and seals for cleanliness, damage, and expiration dates before use. Handle and add preservatives according to approved procedures after completing the required training and receiving authorization.

Assemble kits with the necessary bottles, labels, chain-of-custody forms, collection instructions, and other supplies. Verify completed orders for accuracy, including kit contents, delivery addresses, and requested shipping dates. Pack bottles and supplies securely to prevent breakage, leakage, or contamination during transport.

Prepare shipping labels, coordinate carrier pickups, record tracking information, and communicate shipping delays or order discrepancies. Receive and organize incoming supplies, monitor inventory and expiration dates, rotate stock, and identify replenishment needs. Maintain accurate bottle preparation, inventory, and shipping records.

Clean reusable coolers and approved reusable containers, and keep preparation, packing, and storage areas clean and organized. Receive and inspect supplies ordered by the laboratory, verify items and quantities against purchase orders or packing slips, and promptly distribute them to the appropriate departments. Maintain accurate receiving records and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the purchasing team.

Follow laboratory safety procedures, wear required protective equipment and promptly report errors or unsafe conditions. Assist with other related laboratory support duties as assigned.
