Meal Officer (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning) - Her Future Foundation

Summary The MEAL Officer is responsible for creating and overseeing the organization's data and learning frameworks to monitor program effectiveness. This role ensures accountability toward both beneficiaries and donors while producing evidence that drives improvements in girls' education, livelihoods, and community development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute the MEAL framework, including logframes and performance indicators that meet donor standards. * Design tools for data gathering, provide training to field teams and volunteers, and supervise surveys, focus group discussions, and regular monitoring activities at locations such as Dukono School. * Oversee the entire data lifecycle, ensuring high-quality collection, analysis, secure storage, and practical application of findings for strategic decisions and reporting.

• Direct evaluation processes, including baseline and endline studies, as well as learning reviews, to capture key lessons and successful practices. * Set up and maintain feedback and complaint systems to uphold beneficiary accountability and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies. * Draft the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning sections for funding proposals and donor reports, incorporating narrative analysis and visual data representations.

• Enhance the capabilities of staff within the Programme and Finance departments regarding MEAL principles, tools, and the effective use of data.

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and managing Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems. * Strong background in developing data collection tools and conducting training for field staff. * Expertise in managing data quality, analysis, and storage for reporting purposes. * Experience leading evaluations, baseline/endline studies, and documenting organizational learning.

• Knowledge of establishing feedback mechanisms and safeguarding compliance protocols. * Ability to write compelling narrative reports and create data visualizations for proposals and donor communications. * Skill in building capacity and training teams on MEAL concepts and data utilization.
