Senior Project Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead key business, operational and technology-related projects within a complex mining environment. This is not a purely administrative project management position. The successful candidate must be capable of taking ownership of projects, creating structure where responsibilities may be unclear, driving stakeholders and ensuring projects move from planning into actual delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of projects from initiation through to implementation and closure. Convert broad business objectives into clear scope, milestones and deliverables. Develop practical project plans and governance structures. Drive accountability and delivery across cross-functional teams. Identify and manage project risks, dependencies and constraints.

Maintain momentum in environments where ownership or accountability may be limited. Coordinate multiple internal stakeholders and functional teams. Provide clear project updates, reporting and escalation. Support technology and software implementation or roll-out projects. Introduce practical project management processes suited to the business environment.

Ensure lessons learned and improvement opportunities are incorporated into future projects. Maintain a strong focus on business outcomes rather than process for its own sake. Minimum Requirements Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, IT or a related field. Strong practical project management experience within complex organisations.

Proven experience managing projects across multiple departments and stakeholder groups. Ability to lead and influence people without direct reporting authority. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience working in environments with changing priorities and ambiguous requirements. Strong problem-solving ability and a hands-on approach to delivery.

Good understanding of project management tools, processes and reporting. Advantageous Experience Mining or heavy industrial environments. Digital transformation or technology implementation projects. Process improvement and operational change. Working with IT, data or digital teams. Maintenance or asset-management processes.

Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 / D365 workflows and systems. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or similar project management certification.
