This position plays a critical role in creating an outstanding first impression for shoppers, retailers, visitors, and property management. The Exterior Housekeeper ensures that entrances, sidewalks, walkways, parking areas, landscaped surroundings, outdoor seating areas, and other designated exterior spaces remain clean, orderly, and free of litter and debris.

The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, detail-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and curb appeal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all assigned exterior areas throughout the shopping center. Conduct routine property walkthroughs to identify and remove litter, debris, leaves, cigarette butts, and other visible waste. Keep main entrances, building facades, sidewalks, pedestrian walkways, and storefront approaches clean and presentable.

Clean exterior glass doors, entryway glass, and accessible glass surfaces as assigned. Sweep sidewalks, walkways, plazas, courtyards, and other paved areas. Empty exterior trash receptacles, replace liners, and ensure containers remain clean and free of overflowing waste. Clean and maintain outdoor seating areas, benches, tables, and designated gathering spaces.

Remove cobwebs, dust, dirt, and other buildup from accessible exterior fixtures, entryways, and designated architectural features. Monitor parking areas, curbs, parking islands, and pedestrian zones for litter and debris. Maintain the cleanliness of loading areas, service corridors, and designated back-of-house exterior spaces.

Identify and report spills, stains, graffiti, damaged fixtures, overflowing trash containers, and other conditions requiring attention. Respond promptly to exterior spills and other cleaning needs to help prevent slips, falls, and other safety hazards. Assist with the removal of leaves and other seasonal debris from walkways, entrances, and designated paved areas.

Operate approved cleaning equipment, including blowers, vacuums, pressure-washing equipment, and other tools when trained and authorized. Use appropriate cleaning products and methods to protect specialty paving, natural stone, decorative finishes, and other high-end exterior materials. Maintain cleaning carts, tools, equipment, and supply storage areas in a clean and orderly condition.

Follow all company safety procedures, property guidelines, and environmental requirements. Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding maintenance concerns, safety hazards, supply shortages, and areas requiring additional attention. Perform additional exterior cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

and Requirements Previous experience in commercial janitorial, exterior maintenance, hospitality, or property housekeeping is preferred. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining an upscale property's appearance. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a professional work ethic. Ability to work independently and follow assigned routes, schedules, and cleaning checklists.

Ability to recognize cleaning deficiencies and take initiative to correct them. Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment after appropriate training. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical activities throughout the shift.

Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment within the physical requirements of the position, with reasonable accommodation as applicable. Ability to communicate professionally with shoppers, retailers, vendors, coworkers, and management. Performance Expectations The Exterior Housekeeper is expected to: Maintain an immaculate and welcoming exterior appearance throughout assigned areas.

Keep entrances, sidewalks, plazas, and other high-visibility areas free of litter and debris. Conduct frequent walkthroughs and address deficiencies before they become noticeable to shoppers or management. Maintain professional conduct when interacting with guests, tenants, and visitors. Work safely around vehicles, pedestrians, deliveries, and active shopping center operations.

Protect the property's landscaping, exterior finishes, and architectural features during cleaning activities.
